The general alcohol limits in Western Australia for all holders of regular open licenses is 0.05%. Those drivers with licenses to drive vehicles for hire to passengers (such as taxi drivers, bus drivers and charter coach drivers) will be under a 0.05% BAC if they are not driving the vehicles which are for hire. This means that professional drivers who are under the 0.0% BAC when they are driving professionally will be under the general blood alcohol limit of 0.05% when they are not driving for passengers, as when they are driving their own privately-owned vehicle.
